Finding Joy in Small Things

Hey friend, let’s chat.
Life can get so busy that we overlook the little blessings right in front of us. I used to think joy only came from big moments, milestones, breakthroughs, answered prayers. But what I’ve learned is that joy is often tucked into the small, ordinary details of life. For me, joy looks like hearing my kids laugh in the other room. It’s a quiet morning with a hot cup of tea or a walk through the garden as the sun sets. It’s the still, gentle ways God reminds me that He is near. Joy also comes through spending time with my family, fellowship with other believers, and the precious moments I spend with the Lord. The Bible tells us to set our minds on the right things: “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable… think about these things.” (Philippians 4:8). There are so many ways to experience joy, and it all starts with a mindset shift. I’ve also learned that joy and happiness are not the same. Happiness often depends on circumstances. Joy comes from God, and it remains even when life feels hard. Joy is rooted in His presence, His promises, and His goodness that does not change.
If you’ve been waiting for something big to spark joy, maybe try looking for it in the small things. God has filled each day with reminders of His goodness if we slow down enough to notice.

“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
With love and gratitude, always
