When the Wilderness Feels Like Chaos

Hey friend, grab something warm to sip, and let’s chat.
This season of my life feels like a wilderness. It’s not peaceful or quiet it’s heavy. It’s filled with sadness and chaos, moments where I can only whisper, “Lord, help me,” or “Give me strength.” But deep down, I know I’m exactly where God wants me to be. I didn’t stumble into this wilderness; I was led here.
It’s hard to say that out loud sometimes, but I believe it’s true. God’s will doesn’t always lead us to comfort it leads us to growth. This moment, as painful and uncertain as it feels, is still part of His plan for me.
For me, the wilderness is where faith becomes real. It’s where I’ve had to depend on God for every ounce of strength just to keep moving. It’s waking up tired, but choosing trust anyway. It’s learning that His presence isn’t proven by how easy life feels, but by how steady His peace remains even when everything else is shifting. The Bible reminds us, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still” (Exodus 14:14, NIV). I hold onto that because stillness doesn’t always mean silence it means surrender. It means trusting that while I’m doing my best to stand, God is working behind the scenes in ways I can’t yet see.
When I read about the wilderness in Scripture, I see that God’s people were never there by accident. The Israelites were led into the wilderness to learn trust. Elijah found renewal there. Even Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness before beginning His ministry. Every wilderness has purpose, even when it doesn’t feel like it. So yes, this season is hard, but I also know it’s holy. It’s where God strips away distractions and teaches me to depend on Him completely. And I trust that when the time is right, He’ll bring me out stronger, wiser, and more rooted in His will than ever before. If you’re walking through your own wilderness, know this: you’re not being punished you’re being prepared. You’re not forgotten you’re being refined. God’s will may have led you here, but His love will never leave you here.
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” Isaiah 40:29 (NIV)
With love and gratitude, always
Kevi
